Annie Modesitt will be at Rainbow Yarn & Fibres
for two workshops on
Sunday Oct. 12, 2008

In the morning 10.00 to 1.00 she will teach "New Direction in Knitting
with Color"
In this class we will learn how to "read" a colorwork chart and learn
the basics of changing colors in a row while knitting. We will also
discuss the differences between fair isle and intarsia, and compare
different methods of carrying yarn across the back of the work. Each student should bring : 4 contrasting colors of worsted weight
yarn, needles to work well with yarn.

On Sunday afternoon 2:00 to 5:00 she will teach "Double Knitting" Making a tube without circular needles isn't hard, but the method can
seem complex when you first start. Learn how to make socks and mittens
on straight needles with no seams! Learn several techniques for
creating a double-thickness fabric (with and without colorwork accents)
and add a new tool to your "Knitting bag of Tricks".
Each student should bring: 1 skein each of light colored worsted & dark
colored worsted weight yarn, needles to work well with yarn.

Cost: $ 75.00 for both, lunch included, or $ 40.00 each morning or
afternoon session.
